We're writing to you today to invite your interest in board membership in Jaliya, Inc., an innovative, cultural, educational, arts project of Silicon Valley. Jaliya needs your support and commitment to successfully continue its efforts at developing an institution and maintaining a facility to teach and disseminate educational material to the public, including but not limited to, material relating to African/African American Heritage, Intercultural Relations, and Ethnic Origins through publications, lectures, performing arts and other art forms. Without community support, Jaliya would not be able to provide this most important service.

JALIYA needs volunteers
Volunteers are individuals who reach out beyond the confines of their paid employment and of their normal responsibilities to contribute time and services to a not-for-profit cause in the belief that their activity is beneficial to others as well as satisfying to themselves.`
That means, volunteers act in recognition of meeting the community needs; offering services without remuneration to others by mutual effort or by belonging to volunteer organizations in a spirit of partnership; they may, through volunteering, grow as persons, acquire new skills and knowledge, develop their personal potential, self reliance and creativity; while enhancing human potential and the quality of daily life and building upon human solidarity.
