Welcome to JALIYA, Inc., an innovative, cultural, educational, arts project established to help enhance the lives of participants by providing access to knowledge, information, and artistic expression through African/African American cultural vehicles. Through our project, we teach and disseminate educational material related to African/African American Heritage, Intercultural Relations, and Ethnic Origins through publications, lectures, performing arts, and other art forms. We are providers of products, services, and programs to individuals, communities, non-profit organizations and corporations in the Silicon Valley, San Francisco and East Bay area for over 25 years. Amadou Bamba AKA David Piper Founder/Executive Director JALIYA, INC.
David Piper, Ed.D. (Amadou Bamba) has to his credit years of experience as a Community Theater Director/Performer, curriculum developer, project/program manager and college instructor with an analytical, intuitive, expressive instructional style. He is an active participant in Multicultural Arts Leadership Initiative (MALI), a program designed to develop and deliver emerging multicultural art leaders. He has a Doctorate in International Multicultural Education, and Masters in Counseling Education. He has studied with Dr. Willie Williams in African American Theater, Dr. Hal Todd in American Theater at San Jose State University, Master drummers Babatundi Olatunji - Eslen Institute; Molunga Casquelourd - Fua Dia Congo; CK Ladzepo, Ethnomusicologist - University of California, Berkeley, California; Zak Douf - Molunga Casquelourd Art Center, Oakland California; Royal Hartigan, San Jose State University; all of which have contributed highly to his mangement, presentational versatility and performance style.

Mach One AKA Machiko Kyoya Founder/Assistant Director JALIYA, INC
Ms. Kyoya holds a Masters Degree in Human Resources and Organization Development (MHROD) From University of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA; a BA in Business Management from Saint Mary’s College of California, Moraga, CA. and a BA in English Literature from Osaka Int’l College for Women, Osaka, Japan. She is a Human Resource Director for a major export/import company of Silicon Valley California providing IT services and electronics options for their blue chip manufacturing clients. She has been a Certified training generalist, curriculum developer, training evaluator for the past 20 years in various management capacities ranging from service sector to high technology sector.

Santa Cruz, Certified Grantsman-The Grantsmans Center Los Angeles, Founder and Executive Director of Mayfair Neighborhood Center for 17 years, Owner of Garden City Music Co and Rose Records, Managed Eddie Gale San Jose’ Jazz Ambassador, Managed The Charles Moffet Family Unit, fifty years as a Professional vocalist and musician and vocal coach.

Carrie Farley AKA Big Mamma Founder/Instructor/Performer/Drummer
BA in Sociology and African American Studies, Life credential in K-8 Education. Long-term substitute teacher. Evergreen School District. Stage actor, spoken word artist for 20 years plus.
