Some feel that acting is based on having had personal experience in relationship to a role.  Sometimes that is true and many times it is not.

The skill that you have to develop is the ability to put yourself into the situation, via language, and ask yourself, what would you do if you were in the situation?

The way to put yourself into the part you are to play is to work at becoming what the writer is talking about.  Take the subject and put yourself in the scenario.  Make what you are doing believable.
